Anna Byrd

Hello my name is:

Anna Byrd. I’m a Singer/Songwriter originally born in Odessa, Ukraine, but raised in the heart of TX. I have been singing for God ever since I was 5 years old, and began actively pursuing my calling at the age of 10 by leading Children’s Worship at my church. Shortly after my sister and I, along with another set of sisters formed a girls groups called none other than, “The Girls”. We got to record 4 albums together and sang at conferences and conventions across the U.S. What an amazing time of growth and opportunity for me! During that time, I also recorded on several special Praise and Worship Projects, a commercial, and my own EP, all before the age of 20.

By this point, I was at a stand still in my life and was asking the Lord what to do next. It was a tough but wonderful season that led me to really seek God. He led me to start serving at Gateway Church in Southlake, TX. There I became very active in the Children’s Ministry and after about a year, I got the opportunity to sing on their very first children’s project, “Look Up”. That in and of itself was such a blessing, but a year later, I received a ‘Dove Award’ for that project.

I continued serving at my home church during the weekend and leading at special services. Over time I got the opportunity to sing at the Cowboy’s Stadium with Gateway Worship, Matt Maher, and Kari Jobe and was asked to be a part of the Women of Faith Tour as well with CeCe Winans and Third Day. I thought the Cowboys Stadium would be something that I would get to do later on in my career, and to have been able to had crossed paths with so many amazing influences was such an honor.

Soon a multiple Dove Award Winning Producer, Ed Cash, got a hold of my first EP. I was so excited that I was shaking when I got an email from THE Ed Cash Studios! I embarked on recording a new EP with Ed and his brother Scott and co-wrote with them as well as Matt Armstrong and Ryan McAdoo. I recently finished 6 songs in December. One of the songs off of my EP, Lead Us, has already been recognized by my church and was released on Gateway’s 2014 Devotional. In the midst of all of this, I also got to sing backup on Kari’s Jobe’s live Majestic recording this year and have been asked to go on the Women of Faith Tour again alongside artists such as Matthew West and Natalie Grant.

Now, I am focusing on getting my music, “the message”, out there. Love is such a tainted thing in society, and I think that people need to know just how much God loves them. What REAL love is! And what God thinks about his children. It is so empowering knowing that we are accepted by our Father and not only that, but that regardless of our short comings, He sees us perfect!

God is so good at out doing Himself if you just let Him and I hope that my story and my songs of God’s overwhelming faithfulness and love can be a source of hope for people to continue to dream; for people to continue to live and enjoy life. I can’t wait to share my music with you!
